Ag Sales
Welcome to the Ag Sales site! Following is contest information you need in order to correctly prepare your team.
The exam portion of the contest will be administered during the contest on the 3rd.
As in years past, you will receive a time schedule for your teams performance. You will receive that schedule approximately 7-10 days prior to the contest.
The on-campus portion of the contest will consist of three activities in which each contestant will participate individually. Those activities include an individual sales presentation, a 25 question multiple choice exam, and a related sales practicum. As was initiated last year all participants will individually perform the same practicum. Contestants will not know the practicum performance area until they appear at the contest site. The theme for the practicum this year is natural resources
The practicum areas from which we will select include: customer relations, customer prospecting, and order taking/customer service. The practicum area of order taking/customer service will not include a telephone dimension. This practicum, if selected, will be done face-to-face as are the other practicums.
The primary intention behind the sales presentation, is focused on meeting the need of the customer, NOT selling the product. This is NOT solely a demonstration of the product. Please tend to this reminder, and if you have need for clarification please call. An email explanation will probably not be sufficient. If you adhere to this advice, it will minimize your need for props and or laptops. It is NOT necessary that all team members present the same product. They can each present on a different product. It is necessary that they have 2 printed product summary sheets to present to judges and customer prior to their presentation.
National contest rules will be followed with the exception that the Team Sales Situation will NOT be conducted at the state contest.
