Updates 
  • All contestants will participate in the identification of crop and weed plants and seeds, insects, plant diseases, farm machinery, and soil properties.
  • Recognition will be given to individual participants with the top total scores over all categories.
  • Ribbons will be awarded following the same scoring criteria as in previous years. 
  •  Preparation materials for the contest are available at the following website:

  • After completion of the individual contest, teams will re-group and complete a Team Activity consisting of 10 to 20 questions that will be targeted to problem solving common issues and practices in agronomic production.
  • Topic areas for the Team Activity will rotate on a yearly basis through:

    2009 - Corn-Soybean Cropping Systems
    2010 - Wheat and Small Grains
    2011 - Rangeland and Forage Production
    2012 - Alternative Crops (e.g. Sunflower, Potato, Sugar Beet, Oilseeds, etc.)

    Recognition is given to the teams with the top total score (i.e. total of combined individual scores plus the Team Activity score).
